We also have Double Elimination Brackets and Triple Elimination Brackets available or you can check out all of the Types of Tournaments available.

Single elimination tournaments are very simple to run.

The above illustration and the comments below should help guide you through setting up and running your tournament. The bracket above is a 16 Team 'Seeded' Single elimination bracket. The same idea is used for all Single Elimination brackets, not matter what the number of participants are.

A: The letter 'A' points to the 'Seeds' of the tournament, if you have pre-ranked your participants based on strength or a season record you would put each team's name on the corresponding line. If you are printing a blind draw bracket these numbers will not appear on the bracket, but the rest of the bracket will be exactly the same.

Are

B: The letter 'B' points to the order in which the games are to be played. Simply start by playing the game labeled (1) and continue until all games are completed. In a single elimination tournament there is always 1 less game then there are participants in the tournament. The championship games on our Single Elimination brackets do not have the last game number listed. We have also created a cool little tool that will calculate the total Number of Games in a Tournament.

How Many Correct Brackets Are Left

For bracket purposes, Thursday served as Day One of the NCAA tournament. So after 16 games, how many of the 5.9 million who are taking part in Tournament Challenge still have a perfect bracket?

That would be 317.

How Many Correct Brackets Are Left Handers

Another 16,958 went 15-1.

Here are the rest of the numbers after one day of Tournament Challenge:

How Many Correct Brackets Are Left Handed

  • Five brackets managed to go 0-for-16

  • 39 brackets went 1-for-16

  • Approximately 4 million out of 5.9 million brackets got 10, 11 or 12 out of 16.

  • Only 4.5 percent had Morehead State over Louisville. Of the 5.9 million, 76 percent had Louisville in the Sweet 16.

  • 38 percent had Richmond over Vanderbilt, which was the highest percentage to pick a 12-seed over a 5.

  • 34 percent of brackets had Gonzaga over St. John's.

  • There were 20,821 brackets that had each of the four 'underdog' winners -- Morehead State, Gonzaga, Richmond and UCLA (which was a 57%-43% underdog according to our fans). Yet obviously only 317 of them went perfect in the other 12 games.

  • President Obama had a strong day, picking 14 of the 16 games correctly for a score of 140 points. He was one of 175,763 to go 14-for-16. That puts him in the 99.7 percentile. Click here to see the President's bracket.
